Knee-Jerk Fantasies Meet Harsh Reality
Fantasy fuels the hands
That effortlessly land
On the objects of their pleasure
Each surface is pre-measured
Each feeling preconceived
On the notions of their deeds
And so nothing could withstand
The drive to their climax
During moments he’d enacted
A play where he would practice
Pursuing his attractions
Now on this day in passing
Their motions would unravel
Like knee-jerk reactions
The distance has been traveled
Before the first contractions
In moments brief
Unfolding dreams
Would call his hands to action
He watched the scene take place
And never felt a trace
Of strength or of resistance
And just like that it ended
But everything had happened
Just like he’d imagined
And it was a terribly long and lonely drive home

There’s a new three-part piece of writing called Volatile up on the second page of the Writings section of Tracing the Seams. It’s got some great images! This week I’m off to Michigan to work on the score for one of the last Make-Believe Machines tracks. More on that later.

Wes has another new piece of writing up at Tracing the Seams called “Scratching at Stars”, which is a sad, yet pleasantly hopeful piece of work, in my opinion. It’s another two-parter, and makes for an encouraging read, if you have the chance to take a look. In other news, the last of many recording dates this summer has been set for August 10th. More on that later. For now, I’ll simply say that I have a beastload of music to mix this fall!

Wesley has just finished his first new combination of writing and photography in months, and I think that it’s one of his best, regarding both the text and the images. This new entry is called “Spinning the Scenery”, and takes place in two parts. Head over to Tracing the Seams to take a look at it!
