Bored? Take a look at the second Web site I ever created, back in 1998. You might find the comics in the News section to be particularly, eh…something.

Lots of Various News

June 11th, 2004 | Category: Bilville, General News, Music, Video

It’s amazing how much a computer crash can do to you. After my laptop’s fan decided it was tired of life and took the suicide route, my hard drive fried, killing a large amount of the writing I’d done from October 2003 to present. One thing I’ve learned from all this is that important information needs to be backed up. The Audio and Band sections have to be recreated now, but those should be up shortly again.

The “Bil” film has been cancelled due to sharp disagreements between director Ben Anderson and I. However, we hope to pick the project up again when we have a larger budget available. The story, on the other hand, will be preserved on the upcoming www.AnUmbrella.com, which is the latest project of a new art group that I’ll be involved in.

July 2nd still holds as the date of the last Cardboard Canary performance, with the studio recording of “The Usual Delve” following a week afterward. Blake and I are very excited to be back playing with our old comrades again one last time.

Robby and Bradford’s jazz/funk band recently split, so Bradford has joined former gigmates Half the Facts, doing vocals and guitar on their upcoming material. Blake and Erik are at work playing with a drummer in California, recording demos of their new material. I hope to join them in August to start playing live shows with them in October, as well as starting my own new band for which drummer Andy Roberts and I are recording a demo during June and July.

Look for more frequent updates now that my computer has been cured. Thanks for your continual site visits and downloads. It’s very encouraging to all of us who are still writing.

Madagascar Hissing Cockroach

May 08th, 2004 | Category: Bilville, Video

Well, the screenplay has been finished and is now in editing/pre-production stages, and has had good responses thus far. We’ve talked about filming it this summer in the swine-infested motherland of Iowa, so perhaps that will happen. Also, drummer Andy Roberts, who played in Cardboard Canary for the shows in Phoenix last fall is currently working with me on recording drums for the "Vegas Anesthetic Peddler" demo (Audio). We hope to do the same for "Three Pronged Fork" when this is finished. In less amazing news, I’m back to work doing Web site design again for a glass company here in Vegas. In possibly the most amazing news, as rehearsal for the film, I purchased a Madagascar hissing cockroach and froze it overnight. I then thawed it a little, so it would move around just a bit, then attached near-invisible magic string to its antennas with wax. My brother then puppeteered it while I filmed the little wretch. If this sounds confusing, it should.
