Blake and Erik Head to Los Angeles
You know what I really hate? When people don’t update their Web site for like a month and I keep checking back and finding nothing new. And yet, I’ve fallen prey to the same lazy habits. Well, friends, this is what’s happened. The deal between Blake, Erik and I didn’t work out as we had hoped, but Blake and Erik have found a place to live L.A., which will put them closer to a good music scene, where they’re hoping to start a new band. As of yet, I’ve heard nothing of what the new project will be called, but if it involves those two fellows, you can be assured it will be worth checking out. As for myself, I will be staying in Las Vegas for the time being, trying to write new material and working on learning to play different instruments. I’ll also be looking for other musicians in the area that would be interested in playing a strange array of music to the tune of "This Wretched Fiasco" and the "Vegas Anesthetic Peddler" demo. I’m also writing a book, which is about 70 pages underway, and re-designing this Web site for new use. It’ll still be at cardboardcanary.com, but I hope to use it for displaying writing, artwork, always MP3s, and the latest updates on our seperate musical projects. Although my vision is very vague, that’s what I see in the future thus far. And if you check back again, I’ll try quite hard to update this site a lot more often. Thank you all for your patience and continued interest.

Alright, first off, I asked in the chat room a few days ago what you all would like to see on this site since Cardcan has disolved and it’s taking awhile to get new things started. The two people who have responded thus far asked for live Cardcan recordings and a new site designed for my upcoming project. I have live Cardcan recordings but they’re pretty poor quality, however I thought that a recording of the last song we ever wrote together might interest you, seeing as though it was never recorded in a studio. So here’s the MP3 of “The Usual Delve” live from the Vaudeville Mews, in Des Moines, IA. The new site is coming along, but it’s a difficult balance of making that, writing new songs, and working at the glass company…whee… Anyway, when it does arrive, it should be really…eh…good.

Blake and Erik moved into their new apartment on Monday in L.A. and now all of us are out scouring our seperate areas for musicians to aid us in our endeavors. My plan, at this point, is to write a complete album, which is rather large and frightening task, but it seems to be coming along rather nicely. So far, the epic has been divided into eight musical pieces, three of which are roughly finished, two which are in development, and three which I have yet to begin. This week I’ve been working on a new song entitled "Three-Pronged Fork." The experience of writing both bass and guitar parts is strange, challenging, and interesting. I’m enjoying it, even though it has given me numerous headaches thus far. Also, the weather is warming up here, which is just wondrous. Numerous rodents are out and about digging around and I have strong urges to hunt them with a crude weapon I’ve fashioned by taping plastic straws to a beach ball. I hope March is going well for all y’all ‘n’ y’all’s relations ‘n’ such ‘n’ stuff, mmkay? Eischelphlegm.
