Heading Out
Well, today’s the day I pack up my things and leave my house, in preparation for the move on September 6th. Unfortunately, that means I will likely be without internet access to update the Web site until we hit Las Vegas sometime around September 10th. Until then, check out the last minute show, and talk amongst yourselves on the message board. I’ll start updating the site again as soon as I have the ability!

“Floating at 35 Miles Up” and “Opaque Windows” are being mixed this week by Joe Richards, who also mixed our most recent EP. Vocals for “This Wretched Fiasco” should be finished next week, and then it’ll be mixing time for that one. At the same time, Robby and I have been called up for recording new Elmo material next week, although my involvement with the project might stop short of recording due to my leaving on September 6th. Either way, keep checking the Web site for audio samples of the new songs, or head over to MP3.com: Cardboard Canary | Elmo

The Iowa Music Flow conducted an interview with Justin a few weeks ago about songwriting, the move to California, and the show at the Mews. Check the Articles portion of the News or just click here to read it.

There are 21 new photos of our show at the Vaudeville Mews in the Live Shots section of the photo gallery, as well as a new photo in the Fan Shots section. Go have yourself a look!
Thanks
We all just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came out last night to the show at the Mews. It was a great time for all of us, and hopefully you all enjoyed it too. Special thanks to Michael for the superb lighting, Paul for the exellent sound, Erik for sampling, and Ben for the video work. Because of Ben, you might just be seeing a live video appear on the site sometime in the future. Remember…just because we’re going to California doesn’t mean we’re dead yet. Heh.

Cardboard Canary took first place in the battle of the bands last night. Which honestly, I can’t say was much of a battle, due to the absence of other scheduled bands. Oh, well though! Wearing green spandex elf costumes was fun. Now quickly forget you read that last line.

In order to get the word out about our final show, several flyer designs are beginning to circulate around Des Moines and surrounding cities. If you would like to promote during this last week before the show, give us an e-mail.
Final Show Program
The program for the show at the Vaudeville Mews slated for August 24th, is now available for your perusal here. The first fifty concert-goers that walk through the door will receive a paper illustrated copy of this same program with the addition of cast details.

The Vaudeville Mews show program.
Show Cancellation
Just a heads up – the show tonight has been cancelled due to the fact that the volume of our live performance is too loud for the coffee house we were scheduled to perform at. Sorry! No need to fear, though. There are still three more performances scheduled before we leave Iowa.
