Recording Progress

June 23rd, 2003 | Category: Music

After two long nights, all the guitars, bass, and drums have been tracked for “Floating at 35 Miles Up,” “Opaque Windows,” and “This Wretched Fiasco.” Things are running ten times smoother this time, both performance-wise, and quality-wise so this recording will quite likely be a big step forward. We’re at work on vocals now, and in a couple weeks we’re planning on doing some piano and violin. Thanks for being patient during this time of few shows!

Devin, Mullet Horrors

June 22nd, 2003 | Category: Photography

Well, it’s time for a quick, somewhat irrelevant news update, seeing as though I’ve just returned from my week-long vacation. First off, our long-time drummer Devin Bonnstetter has left us, but there were no hard feelings, so we certainly wish him well on whatever he’s up to next. To add to this not-terribly-pleasant news, Bradford now has a half-braided mullet. I’ve posted photos of this atrocity, in hopes that those who already hate our band will hate us all the more, and those formerly liked us will now have reason to hate us. Click here to be scarred for life.

Elmo MP3s

June 07th, 2003 | Category: Elmo, Music

The Elmo EP was successfully recorded earlier this week. This was a two-song project, a couple months in the making from Kirk Brown, Justin, Robby, and Blake. You can now hear both of these songs at a special Web site here.

Justin, Robby, and Blake Record with Elmo

June 02nd, 2003 | Category: Elmo, Music

No, friends, we aren’t doing a side project with muppets, although that would be wonderfully bizarre and rancid. The latest musical project from Kirk Brown (formerly vocals/guitar for Cellophane the Midwives) is called Elmo, and is on its way into the studio tonight with myself on bass, Robby on drums, and Blake playing some piano on one of the two songs.
