Shows Next Weekend
I just posted complete details on two shows next weekend, Friday in Dallas Center, and Saturday in Atlantic. We’re hoping to try out a new song called “The Usual Delve”, so be sure to show up! All the info you need can be found in the delightful Shows section.
No commentsMessage Board Fix
I’ve noticed a lot of the fans who’ve registered on the message board are using AOL and probably are having trouble posting, so I wrote a little solution, which you can view either by clicking here, or on the link in Chat section.
No commentsChange of Plans
After a band meeting last night, we made the decision to cancel our west coast tour, because it seems financially wiser to stay in Iowa through August and professionally record some of our new material to aid us when we permanently move to California in September. The songs have not been chosen, but the new recording will likely consist of two or three songs and will be recorded once again by Joe Richards, who tracked, mixed and mastered our previous EP.
No commentsMassive Updates of All Sorts
Seeing as though the majority of this month was spent without an internet connection, I thought I’d catch you all up on what’s been going on. This past weekend we played a benefit concert at Valley High School, which went quite well. We also received more live photos, which are currently up in the Live Pics section, and Erik Brown shot a bunch of promo photos for us which scattered across this site in various areas. Erik’s photography will also play a large part in the layout for the new Cardboard Canary site, which I’m hoping to launch before we leave for California in a couple months.
Look for more updates coming real soon! Thanks for your patience!
Coe College Battle of the Bands
Cardboard Canary will be competing at the Coe College Battle of the Bands this Saturday afternoon. We are also featured on the t-shirt they’ll be selling to promote the event. Come support us if you have the chance!
No commentsNew Recording
This last weekend the band went in and recorded some rough demos of “Floating at 35 Miles Up,” “Opaque Windows,” “This Wretched Fiasco,” and “Agape.” We’re unsure as to what will become of these recordings, but you may be hearing a sample sometime soon.
